I have been getting too much of criticism for the C++ thing – All I am saying is people are being taught C++ with a prime focus of getting them placed in IT Company rather than seeing how it can be used in their own fields.

I am not saying T & P Cell is not important – Of Course it is important to have a T & P Cell – What I am pointing out here is T & P Cells are more focussed on getting their students placed.

My research comes from the experience of training at some of prestigious Universities for around half an year and that’s why I felt so . Agreed there are always exception ( Even my College has entered into the exception area these days ) but majority of them ( Most of them from South India ) still continue to be producers of resources for IT companies !

I could relate to some points, but overall I would suggest, when you are writing a piece on something this sensitive (especially when you are proposing a new committee to be set up and all) do some more research….the c++ thing was lame and speaking too highly of IITs and NITs isn’t the right thing either. They are not very different from other colleges. Just that a few key things are different. And Training and Placement is as important as an E-Cell. Both working at tandem and coordination is even better. We have something like that working in my own college and I am not an IITan or an NITan. Freedom of speech and all, you are allowed to go on rants, blah blah…but next time just refine your facts.

My Dell Venue Pro had some minor problems with the speaker itself. But Dell’s customer care, awesome as it is, got me a replacement in 4 days (which included a Sunday). So I’m happy.

well, i suggest a correction, as a mechanical engineer, we are exposed to C, C++ programming cos we have a subject named Mechatronics, which involves programming, also the CNC machines we work on are programmed using C. hence the what in the world!

i think all these problems boil down to a single line
which has become a by word for parents and most of the people alike “WHAT WILL THE SOCIETY THINK OF US”
if we do something different, that is why there is a huge problem and everyone wants to join the software industry , also personally it frustrates those who are actually passionate about it

Every line filled up with emotions of a frustated engineer…
Same case with me too…even much more worse…
Still hoping for a satisfying future…
But the main problem is that we guys are always busy in blaming our past and dreaming about a secure future…while doin nothing important and wasting our time which tends to ruin our present… :-/
